Silver Cabinet
Cabinet for storing sterling silverware. I based much of the design on a cabinet made for the model office in a vocational school in 1912 designed by Bela Lajta. I was drawn to the Hungarian folk symbols carved in the door, the fluted shape of the legs, and the unusual bottom side rails. The interior design of the original Lajta cabinet is unknown but I attempted to make it harmonious with the exterior. The cabinet is made of African Mahogany with crotch mahogany veneer on the fold down table. The interior shelfs feature anti tarnish silver cloth on the shelves.
